The Physics and Atmospheric Science Department offers labs and other facilities related to a range of research areas. Professors and researchers in Applied Physics are engaged in research that seeks to use existing knowledge in developing new technologies. Kimberley Hall's group, for example, aims to develop new semiconductor technologies, including spintronic devices and a solid-state quantum computer.
