The NCE Secretariat expects to launch a competition for the NCE program in April 2017. Networks can receive up to $25M from NCE over a five-year period. The NCEs are large-scale academic-led research networks that bring together multi-disciplinary partners from academia, industry, government and not-for-profit organizations. Partners provide additional expertise and contribute cash and in-kind support. Networks perform R&D as well as translation and commercialization activities. They also enable Canadian researchers and students to work with receptor communities to accelerate the creation and application of knowledge. ¹û½´ÊÓƵ researchers are invited to an NCE information session on Wednesday, April 12th from 10:00 am – 11:30 am in Room #1007, Ken Rowe Management Building. Representatives from the Vice-President Research Office, ¹û½´ÊÓƵ Research Services and ¹û½´ÊÓƵ’s current NCE (Marine Environmental Observation Prediction and Response (MEOPAR)), will provide information on the NCE competition, the operation of an NCE, and ¹û½´ÊÓƵ’s internal selection process for those interested in pursuing this funding opportunity.
