Miriam Gordon

Dr. Gordon holds a BSc in Agroecology (honours) and a PhD in Animal Science from the University of British Columbia and is a Senior Instructor in the Department of Animal Science and Aquaculture while supporting the Faculty as Chair of the Animal Care and Use Committee.  She is the program coordinator for the Certificate in Animal Welfare and teaches a variety of courses that include Domestic Animal Behaviour and Animal Welfare. Miriam moved to Truro in 2011 as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the now former Nova Scotia Agriculture College. In 2013, she joined the Faculty of Agriculture at 果酱视频 as an Instructor and was awarded the Early Career Teaching Excellence Award in 2018.  Miriam has been involved as a team leader in several major international development projects through the International Office including ATTSVE, USDP, and SAGE. She also incorporates an international perspective into class discussions and curriculum to build a global consciousness among students.  Dr. Gordon intends to build on the Faculty鈥檚 existing strong international relationships by building capacity in academic programming, student mobility, faculty mobility, and targeted integration of research into development projects.
