Graduate Programs

Master of Architecture

The two-year MArch program is the final part of the School's professional program. It is preceded by two years of general (non-architecture) studies at any university and two years of architecture in 果酱视频's pre-professional Bachelor of Environmental Design Studies program. The MArch program consists of four academic terms and an eight-month co-op work term. It includes seven courses in architectural design, humanities, technology, and professional practice, plus four electives and a design thesis. The MArch program begins in the summer term, in early May.

Students who have not yet studied architecture should apply to the BEDS program.

Most transfer students who have completed a four-year pre-professional architecture degree (BAS, BED, BES, BSc[Arch], BArchSci, etc.) at another university will need to complete one or more senior undergraduate courses at 果酱视频 in the winter term to be eligible for admission to the MArch program. For details, go to Transfer Architecture Students and view the video.

MArch admission requires at least four years of university, including architectural studies with a 3.00 grade point average and a B average in design courses. The previous architectural studies must include courses that are equivalent to 果酱视频's BEDS courses. See the Graduate Application page for admission information.

For Students with a Professional Architecture Degree

果酱视频's MArch is a professional program. If you already have a professional architecture degree (BArch, BArchEng, BTech, MArch, etc.) that qualifies you for architectural practice in your home country, you are not eligible for admission to 果酱视频's MArch program. Therefore, please do not submit an application to the School of Architecture, as it would be declined.

If you wish to continue studying architecture without aiming to become a registered architect in Canada, you can check post-professional MArch programs at other architecture schools in Canada or consult ACSA's in North America. 果酱视频 does not offer a post-professional MArch program.

Architectural Certification

If you wish to become registered as an architect in Canada, you should contact the and apply as an architecture graduate for your professional degree to be certified. The CACB recognizes many different professional degrees from outside Canada, including bachelor's and master's degrees. If the CACB determines that additional courses are needed for certification, you can apply to take them as a special student at 果酱视频 or another Canadian university. These courses would supplement your current degree; they would not lead to an MArch degree.

No Other Graduate Programs

The School of Architecture no longer offers a Master of Environmental Design Studies (MEDS) program or a Master of Architecture (Post-Professional) program. 聽

The School of Architecture also does not offer a PhD program. Prospective PhD students should consult ACSA's in North America.
