Clubs and Student Societies

The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences has several student societies. They are active in planning social events, fundraisers, campus activism, and trips to conferences. The societies create an energetic community where diverse personalities and interests thrive. It is a chance for students to get involved in the university and community, as well as to become familiar with one another and faculty.

Dawson Geology Club

William Dawson, who was described in 1843 as "a very excellent geologist" by Mr. Logan (of famous Mount Logan), became Principal of McGill University in 1855, and his son, George Dawson, became Director of the Geological Survey of Canada.
