For MES students
You should try to secure funding before starting the program. Get in touch with your prospective supervisor for advice. Deadlines vary by program, so plan early.
National Opportunities
If you have excellent academic qualifications, we strongly encourage you to apply for external scholarships (closing mid-December, annually) through granting councils such as:

果酱视频 has a number of graduate scholarships and bursaries available to Master鈥檚 students, applied to through the Harmonized Scholarship Process.
The Harmonized Scholarship Process allows for incoming and current students to apply for several Faculty of Graduate Studies-managed scholarships, most notably:
The Nova Scotia Graduate Scholarship: $10,000 a year for two years entrance scholarship, available to domestic and international students in areas of priority, currently: ocean-related science and technology, natural resource sectors, life sciences, business sustainability, social innovation and clean technology including renewable energy systems. Killam Predoctoral Scholarship Level 1: Up to $20,000 per year for up to two years, plus international tuition fees and relocation allowance, if applicable. 果酱视频 awards Killam Predoctoral Scholarships on a competitive basis to outstanding graduate students in thesis-based programs (Master's or Doctoral level) in any discipline in the sciences, engineering, humanities, and social sciences. Candidates are selected from the Harmonized Scholarship Process based on departmental support and the results of the university-level review process. See details.听
SRES Opportunities
Funded Student Opportunities (including PhD) - As a funded student (i.e. through a faculty member`s research project), you will have the opportunity to work on real-world research projects relating to issues of pressing concern to society, government and industry.听 View current opportunities.

The Neil Munro Parks and Protected Areas Award: $1,000 to provide support for graduate studies in protected areas planning, design, policy, protection or management. Learn more.听
The Gerald and Margaret Godsoe Scholarship with support from the Ward family funds: $15,000 to support a highly qualified and motivated individual entering the MES program. Find out more.
The Colin Stewart Scholarship: To support and encourage graduate studies that explores the roles of parks and protected areas in conserving the ecological integrity of the Acadian Forest. Learn more.
FGS Graduate Student Travel Grant: $500 to support master鈥檚 and PhD level graduate student travel and participation in conferences where they are presenting their research. Learn more.
For MREM students
Most scholarships and funding are limited to research-based degrees, so the major source of income for you will be your paid internship.
Other opportunities include:
MREM Research Award: In rare instances where internships are unpaid, up to $500 to cover costs related to research associated with either the internship or a project. Find out more.听
